Success Report (previous issues)
My nine year old daughter started taking sewing lessons one year ago. She started with the basics, each week learning a new skill. It wasn’t fun-------it was boring for her to learn those mundane skills because she didn’t have the big picture in mind.
What was the big picture? Someday soon she would be making a beautiful gown for her piano recital and she would need all of those mundane skills she was learning to make that dress. Once that vision was planted into her mind, her whole attitude changed about her weekly lessons and the things she was learning. We even took it a step further and bought a pattern for her gown. She looked at that picture often--------and I know she saw herself in that dress!
How about you? Are you tired of the mundane skills of this business? Are you tired of trying to perfect your phone skills, closing skills, leadership skills? If you answered yes, then I would challenge you to get the big picture.
What’s your big picture? What vision do you have that will motivate you to continue doing the mundane skills? What burning desire do you have that will cause you to push through your fear of failure or fear of success? I would challenge you to write down your vision right now------and that vision must be so compelling you’d walk on fire to get it if someone showed you how! Now take the extra step by getting a picture of what you want. Hang it up and look at it every single day------ picture yourself having already achieved it!
Once your vision is in place, it will give you a renewed purpose of getting on the phone, conducting recruiting interviews, and doing all of those business building activities required to move your business forward.
Challenge yourself, push yourself, and don’t settle for being mediocre. There are way too many people who fall into this category. You’re better than that. You have dreams and I know you want to accomplish so much-------and you can! Believe you can do it. Learn those mundane skills. Then rise above the majority of people and just go after what you want with passion and purpose. Nothing and no one will stop you because they can’t. You’re a force that is moving way too fast for anyone or any situation to slow you down.
Hannah made that beautiful gown and wore it in May for her piano recital. The pride I saw in her face will forever be burned in my mind as a reminder to how powerful a vision can be. She worked hard at those mundane tasks and it paid off because of the prize at the end.
How about you? Will you get your prize in the end? Are you willing to work hard and smart to get it? I promise------it’s worth it!
Until next time------get that vision and work hard!
