Tomorrow is Always Fresh with no Mistakes in it!

“Let me remind you of something you once told me,” said Miss Stacy to Anne. “Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes in it.” My family has been enthralled the last couple of days with that famous and fiery redhead, ‘Anne of Green Gables’. It’s one of my favorite stories. One minute I’m laughing my head off----the next minute I’m bathed in tears.

There are many profound lessons and quotes from ‘Anne of Green Gables’. My favorite quote is the one above. With a slight change, we can apply it to the brand new year that is upon us: 2006 is a fresh year with no mistakes in it.

Does that mean you won’t make any mistakes with your business in 2006? I hope you shouted a very loud “NO”! At the end of 2006, if you aren’t sporting a bunch of bumps, bruises, and scrapes, that would tell me you didn’t work your business very hard throughout the year. You see, it’s not about avoiding mistakes. It’s about embracing the lessons they teach us----it's about gaining new found wisdom from them. If you make mistakes and don't learn valuable lessons from them, then the mistakes wasted their time on you!

This morning I took Hannah to her sewing lessons. My vehicle was parked outside all night. When we got in, I found the windshield splattered with ice crystals. It wasn’t covered enough to impair my driving, so I didn’t bother to scrape them off. However, when I was getting ready to pull out of my driveway, I noticed something very interesting. When I focused on one ice crystal, everything else around it became a blur.

What ice crystal are you going to focus on for 2006? What dream would you climb to the ends of the earth to achieve? When you focus on what you really want, all of the distractions will become a blur----fear, insecurities, lack of confidence, self-doubt, and anxiety.

When you learn from your mistakes today, tomorrow will be filled with more opportunity than you can imagine. Prosperity will be at your fingertips when you focus. You will be a driving force----unstoppable!

I wish you the best as your thrive in 2005! It’s a fresh year with no mistakes. I love fresh beginnings, don’t you? It’s YOUR year to shine!
